Smart showcases transparent and translucent versions

Smart, the DaimlerChrysler-owned manufacturer of city cars, is showcasing transparent and translucent versions of its Forfour hatchback at the Geneva Motor Show.

Smart has not committed itself to mass production of the design concepts, which allow the internal workings of the car to be seen, but says that only standard production materials have been used.

Since their launch in 1998, Smart cars have been designed with coloured plastic body panels, which can be replaced or swapped with other owners to change the appearance of the car.
