Apple’s iPad has won the Best of Show award in this year’s Design Week Awards.

The judges said of the iPad, ’It has changed the way we consume, the way we think. It’s a game-changer.’

The iPad was also announced as the winner in the Consumer Product Design category, with judges saying, ’The interface is magic and the surface is easy to clean. [The product] shows restraint and quality.’

Clients the BBC, Nike and Penguin were all admitted to the Design Week Hall of Fame this year.

Red Bee Media was commended in this year’s awards for its work for BBC Radio 4’s Today programme. Nike has been recognised this year with an award for the Nike Football+ Team Edition app, designed by AKQA. Penguin projects by Intro and Poke have previously been recognised in the awards.

Other winners included Thoughtfull’s branding for the Voyager exhibition for the Maritime Museum in New Zealand, which won in the Identity Programmes category, and Fine Cell Work, by The Partners, which won in the Letterheads and Logos category.
