Designers should ask how clients operate

With reference to the question posed in VoxPop (DW 3 May), asking what difference the design industry could have made to the May Day demonstrations, my response is: If members of the design industry had wanted to help on 1 May then they should have read Naomi Klein’s book and taken the title to heart.

“No Logo: Beating the Brand Bullies” should bring “logo-ists” up short, asking questions about how clients operate and how sustainable the whole thing is.
