Dyson Appliances has accepted damages of £4m from Hoover following a High Court ruling (in October 2000) that Hoover’s Triple Vortex vacuum cleaner infringed Dyson’s Dual Cyclone patent. According to Dyson, the settlement is believed to be the largest court award of damages in British patent case history.
