The Interbrand Group has taken a minority share in South African identity consultancy Sampson Associates, with an option to take a majority position in the near future.

The consultancy, now renamed Interbrand Sampson, was set up by UK-born Jeremy Sampson in 1973 and has represented Interbrand in southern Africa for the last six years.

Interbrand Group executive director Raymond Perrier joins the board of the Johannesburg consultancy. “It’s never going to be a huge market but certainly it’s a growing market,” he says.

Interbrand Sampson has designed the identity for FBC Fidelity Bank, formed from the merger of Port Elizabeth based Fidelity Bank and FBC FutureBank in Johannesburg.
