Future fridges may be beyond the pale when white goods are mentioned, as Electrolux – bastion of the fridge establishment – has done something radical. As part of a competition it sent 12 classic white models to art colleges in Bangkok and Rio de Janeiro respectively for young people to express themselves over (pictured). One of the two winners, Arthit Amnouypom from Bangkok, says it was ‘fun’ but her mum would kill her if she tried it on the one at home. Second winner, Alessandro Cardosa from Rio, based his work on the idea that at one time all the continents were united.
Created by in-house designers, the store aims to have an “immersive” feel to help customers imagine products in their own homes.
From 20-23 September, London’s Designjunction takes place on the South of the River Thames, and will see installations, exhibitions, talks and its well-known fair spread across three venues including Doon
The education website now offers a more personalised teaching service for students aged three to 16+, and the new look hopes to represent this broader scope.
