If you attended the ITV Marketing Awards on Tuesday night, the Sky table was the one not to sit downwind of.
Design Clinic, which has the responsibility of keeping Sky’s press ads looking good, had a dual commitment that evening.
Its umbrella, the FM Group, has two in-house football teams made up of 30 guys and eight gals, and a match was booked. Footie is taken seriously and Clinic designers were not prepared to let their side down by leaving early for the awards. So they scooted straight from field to ceremony, without so much as a shower in between.
“They slipped on their tuxes straight after the game to save time,” says a Clinic spokeswoman, who played but “made sure” she was clean for the awards.
Apparently, the team thought it was “a good joke.” Let’s hope Sky’s response was “no sweat”.
