BBC MediaArc airs the identity for BBC Broadcast

BBC MediaArc, the BBC’s in-house design resource, has created the visual identity for BBC Broadcast.

The consultancy has also created a website, a four-second sting, which will be applied to showreels and video case studies, and all literature, which includes marketing material, brochures and stationery.

The logo, which launched last week, features a play on ‘thought bubbles’ and is designed to encapsulate BBC Broadcast’s creative, editorial and technical values. The strapline, Bringing Channels to Life, is used alongside the logo.

‘We were asked to create an identity that would work for the brand of BBC Broadcast, showing that it is a people-led business with a range of offers such as play-out.

The identity also had to fit into the BBC’s design guidelines,’ says BBC MediaArc creative director Tim Platt.

BBC Broadcast offers a range of channel creation and management services to broadcasters and other media companies. Its aim is to generate commercial revenues in addition to operational savings that will be put back into BBC programme-making.

The consultancy, which also pitches for work outside the BBC as a stand-alone business, did not make a formal pitch for the work.
