Football heroes celebrated as you moisten the stamps

I was interested to read in Design Week’s Dairy section that the Isle of Man Post Office is commissioning World Cup stamps featuring footballers such as Manchester United’s David Beckham and Liverpool’s Michael Owen (DW 28 March).

As a football fan, and an avid West Ham United supporter, I applaud such an initiative, as the sport can bring people together like no other and engenders a great spirit during the competition.

One thing that does irk though. If a stamp is issued picturing a Manchester United player – which side do we spit on?
