English&Pockett rebrands Sveriges Television

Broadcast specialist English&Pockett has unveiled stage one of a three-phase project, worth over £1m, to reposition Swedish public broadcaster Sveriges Television.

The first phase is individual identities for channels SVT 1 and 2, plus an SVT logo to be used across all screen and print branding – worth £300 000. The channel identities and overall branding will be unveiled next week.

Phase two is to redesign SVT’s news output. The project is worth about £650 000 and is expected to go live in May or June. It involves both consultancy and design work to incorporate the branding into all national and regional news programming, including studio sets and title sequences.

Phase three is to rebrand all promotional material, merchandising, outside broadcast and signage. The budget for the project is, as yet, undisclosed.

E&P creative director Darrell Pockett describes the overall task as the creation of “an entire brand strategy and structure”.
