Brief

Goalkeepers are the unsung heroes of soccer, according to publisher Boxtree in a book to be launched on 30 September. One, Images of a Goalkeeping Season is a collection of photographs by Robert Wilson, with a foreword by a former Arsenal and Scotland goalie confusingly named Bob Wilson. The goalie is ‘the backbone of the squad, the player upon which so much responsibility rests’. The book ‘is an insight into football’s most solitary figures’, according to Boxtree. The book costs 10.99.
