London corporate design group Intergraphic has opened its first overseas branch in Bahrain.

The Bahrain office is intended to serve the three-year-old consultancy’s client base in the Middle East. Intergraphic founder and chief executive Mark Sutherland says: “This is the next step in our development.

“For the Middle East it will mean that for the first time it will be possible for financial institutions and corporations to purchase the quality of European design from a local office in the region,” he adds.

Two designers from the UK are to be based in Bahrain, alongside a local designer. Intergraphic’s clients in the Middle East include Bahrain International Bank, Saudi American Bank and Arab Insurance Group, which is currently looking for a new identity programme (DW 5 July).

Meanwhile, Intergraphic has strengthened its London base with the recent arrival of senior designer Adam Knapp, who was previously with Sears Davies.
