Christopher Palmer is a finalist in the Oxo Peugeot Design Awards 2002

Designer Christopher Palmer has been shortlisted as a finalist in the furniture category of the Oxo Peugeot Design Awards 2002 for his Torus Bench.

The bench, 820mm high and 2100mm in diameter, can seat ten people and is made in three segments, enabling it to fit around a tree. Torus sheds water and is also difficult to graffiti.

The bench is one of ten finalists in the awards, of which the overall winner – to be announced on 4 September – will receive £16 000 in prize money.
