Saatchi & Saatchi Design has brought in David Slater as creative director, a post which has been vacant since Derek Johnston’s departure last June.

Slater was previously creative director at literature specialist E-fact. He expects to form a closer working relationship with ad parent company Saatchi & Saatchi. At the moment about 90 per cent of S&S Design’s projects are self-generated rather than referrals, says Sally Pasfield, managing director of the 25-strong group.

Unlike sister design consultancy Siegel & Gale, Pasfield has no thoughts of leaving the network. “Our relationship has been positive,” she says.
