Design Council recruits Rich

THE DESIGN COUNCIL has appointed Harry Rich, founder of an electrical wholesale business, to the new position of director of business. Rich took up his position on 1 March.

“[My job is to]… build partnerships, spreading the message that design is in the fast lane to profit and growth,” says Rich.

Additional committee members to guide the council through Government, business and education initiatives are: chairman of the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority Sir William Stubbs, Royal Society of Arts director Penny Egan and former Thorn Lighting chairman Hamish Bryce. Existing members Dick Powell and Roy Williams have been re-appointed, for a further two years.
