UK sets light to Donside Paper

HGV and EH6 Design Consultants have each scooped two prizes in the Donside Paper Company’s millennium awards, which were announced at the Millennium Dome on Tuesday.

Competing against design groups from Europe and the US, the consultancies were among 21 shortlisted from 600 entries.

HGV, from London, won the Promotional Items category for its Esprit Europe brochure, as well as the Best of UK award for the same product. Edinburgh group EH6 came first in Technical/ Product Service Literature for its Nimmos Colour Printers Millennium 2000 Brochure, also winning the Special Millennium Award for the best commemorative design.

Other winners included US designers Pentagram partner J Abbot Miller and Design Machine, for magazines and posters respectively, with Dutch group Vorm Vijf Ontwerpburo collecting three awards in the category for Corporate Brochures, Best of Holland and Chairman’s Award for Best Overall Design. Five sections went unrewarded.
