Smith & Milton took a novel approach to Halloween this year. Rather than a cinema visit to The Blair Witch Project, the consultancy held its own pumpkin competition to syphon off excess creative juices.

The fascinating results gave ‘valuable insights into the damaged psyches of my workmates’, according to one consultancy mole. Production manager Gary Morris re-shaped his fruit with a frenzy of nail bashing, while ‘IT queen’ Gabi Boland fashioned an Apple Mac-like i-pumpkin. (Or is that Pumpkin Mac?)

Designer Lee Turner aped Damien Hirst with a dissected and reassembled version – ‘a comment on the hopelessness of man’s crusade to bridle and imitate nature’.

Meanwhile, colleague Lee Newham thought outside the pumpkin, fashioning a small effigy out of a radish.
