Simon Pendry takes up creative director post at Blue Marlin

Blue Marlin has appointed Simon Pendry as the new creative director of its London office.

Pendry will join at the end of January after 11 years as senior design director at Jones Knowles Ritchie. JKR is currently seeking to replace Pendry.

Pendry directly replaces Rob Riley, who returned to Blue Marlin in June following the departure of Martin Grimer, former global creative director (DW 23 June).Pendry will be leading a team of nine people in the London office.

Pendry says that part of his new role will involve refreshing the identity of Blue Marlin. He says, ’It seems like quite an exciting opportunity to steer the team and take them on to the next level.’

Blue Marlin co-founder David Hodgson says, ’Simon is an immensely creative individual – he is a real big-picture person, and a great cultural fit with Blue Marlin. We can’t wait to get him on board.’
