Newcastle design consultancy Sumo has created the identity for the 12th Annual Durham Literature Festival.

It is designed to reflect the theme of the festival – the mind’s eye and how books can provide an escape into an imaginary world – and will appear on a range of visual media, including posters, flyers, programmes, projections and a website designed specifically for people with sight difficulties. The website can be found at www.literaturefestival.co.uk.

Sumo won the project following an unpaid creative pitch against unnamed design groups.

Posters and flyers will be launched in two weeks around north England, while the festival itself runs from 9 June until 7 July.
