BBC Proms 99

Promotional material for the BBC Proms 99 is designed and illustrated by Chris Gilvan-Cartwright.

The brief was to produce a bold image that incorporated the energy, excitement and spontaneity of the Proms. The image reduces the Royal Albert Hall to a series of coloured semicircles. These will be used separately to represent various aspects of the festival.

‘I wanted the design to have rhythm and impact, remaining stylish yet clear of obvious musical references,’ says Gilvan-Cartwright.
