Eircom picks Design House

Design House has been appointed to develop the retail concepts and point-of-sale material for Ireland’s leading telecommunications company, Telecom Eireann.

The group is changing its name to Eircom following a recent flotation, with Dublin design group Identity Business creating the new identity (DW 19 March).

Design House won a six-way paid pitch and will be responsible for designing interiors for 24 stores in total. The first shop opens in Nenegh in October, with Eircom’s largest specialist business centre opening three months later in Blanchardstown. The refit programme is due to be completed by spring 2000.

Design House managing director Lavinia Culverhouse says: “As the face of Eircom on the high street, the new stores will reflect its professional, progressive and friendly brand values. They will be bright, modern and spacious, with a fun ambience.”
