Water body searches for name

A new single trade association representing the UK water industry is offering 100 to the person who comes up with the best name for the company.

The new body will represent the 17 small drinking-water companies and the ten bigger privatised water groups from April.

“Maybe we will start without a visual identity, but legally we have to have a name,” says Pamela Taylor, who will be the body’s chief executive. Taylor is currently chief executive of the smaller Water Companies Association.

Taylor has not yet finalised the selection process for the identity design, but says she will probably approach a number of consultancies and invite them to pitch. She is also considering approaches from several groups which have already contacted her.
