750Mph sounds out Tonic’s website work

Tonic has been appointed to design a website for London-based sound design and audio post-production house 750mph, for a five- figure sum. Tonic won the work after a three-way pitch last month.

The site will be aimed primarily at attracting interest from clients producing commercials for television, cinema, radio and viral media.

‘Visibly and audibly we want the site to reflect the creative and playful aspects of our brand with a clean, refined and professional feel,’ says 750mph general manager Nancy O’Brien.

Tonic creative director Ranzie Anthony says the group is exploring a creative solution that draws upon sound directly and visualises or re-interprets sound.

‘We are looking at how we can rework the oscillograph – a sound measure – used in 750mph’s visual identity (pictured), as a navigation tool for the on-line environment,’ explains Anthony.

Tonic is also looking at creating information sound channels, and ways of representing the variations in sound speed which occur due to changes in temperature and humidity across the globe.
