Lambie-Nairn tunes into BBC launches

Lambie-Nairn creative director Martin Lambie-Nairn decided on an alternative approach to “computer gimmicks”. “BBC World takes flags as its theme. The imagery is far removed from the usual language of flying satellites and spinning globes,” he says.

Both channels begin broadcasting on 26 January.

BBC World is a 24-hour international news and information service, while BBC Prime focuses on entertainment and replaces the BBC’s existing European general programming channel.

The channels are funded jointly by the BBC and Pearson Television Holdings.

BBC Prime features diamonds surrounding a polished stone, to achieve a “subtle and complex moving pattern of refracted light”.
