C&CS takes on a skilled new recruit

Creative & Cultural Skills has appointed Annabel Praeger as its industry skills director for design.

She will work with the Design Council and Design Skills Advisory Panel to identify the skills requirements of employers and sole traders in the industry.

Her objective is to formulate an ‘action plan’ that will raise levels of skills and organisational performance in the design sector, maintaining global competitiveness.

Praeger (pictured) was previously head of design at the University of Wales, more recently acting as a consultant to design consultancies in Wales. CCS is the Government’s Sector Skills Council for the creative industries, including design, advertising and the visual arts.
