Kinneir Dufort cannot take credit for Kinneir Calvert

It is bad enough for quiet Jock to have had thoughtless inelegant mutations imposed on his and Margaret Calvert’s seminal sign systems (see the Highways Agency photos alongside Ben Tappenden’s Inspired, DW 28 June).

He did like accuracy, so at least we can get the history right: it was Kinneir Calvert in 1960s Knightsbridge that designed the road signs. Kinneir Dufort is too young and will work, and wait its turn, for any such recognition.
