Work begins on Leeds snow dome

Xscape in Leeds, the real-snow slope and leisure complex pioneered in Milton Keynes, has appointed four groups to create branding, interiors and audio visual components in the lead up to the centre’s opening in October.

Faulknerbrown, Fulcrum, Speirs and Major and Great Minds are working on the project with Xscape’s management team, led by former Dome impresario P-Y Gerbeau and creative director Robert Warner. Faulknerbrown is theming the space and creating interiors for the ‘mall-style’ spaces as well as café, bar and restaurant interiors.

The group is working closely with sound and audio visual specialist Fulcrum on animatronics as well as thematic elements.

Speirs and Major is creating lighting for the complex, and Xscape branding, originally designed by Warner, will be implemented by Great Minds.
