Edinburgh group Navy Blue is seeking staff for its new London office, which went live last week.

The London arm is headed by Navy Blue director and co-founder Geoff Nicol.

Vanessa Shrimpton is business development manager. She was formerly with Cairns Design. Meanwhile, Gerard Ivall climbs aboard from Pile Probert Kelly as a senior designer next week.

“We want to establish a presence in London to win new clients in the area. The aim is to grow the office as fast as possible, depending on how many new clients we win,” says Nicol.

The consultancy is currently sorting through a pile of applications with a view to recruiting additional designers as and when they are required.

The London office will initially work on a number of projects generated through its 17-strong, four-year-old Edinburgh office.

These include an annual report for Scottish malt whisky Glenmorangie and a corporate identity for copywriter-cum-journalist Greg Sheridan.

Navy Blue was placed third overall in The Drum’s 1997 Scottish Design Consultancy of the Year Survey, announced last week. Pure Design came first and 999 Design came second.
