Designers’ curricula vitae have been “removed” from recruitment agency AMP Design Recruitment.

The agency claims that some 1400 curricula vitae have been taken from its London offices, and is urging designers who attended interviews at the offices and handed CVs to any staff to contact them again.

“We are in the process of considering what action to take next,” says agency managing director Roger Roberts.

Roberts says the police have been informed but the investigation into the theft has been suspended as the agency considers taking civil action against an unnamed party. Roberts declines to comment on any suggestion that the culprit is known to the agency. He also declines to comment on whether the premises were actually broken into.

Says Gabriella Skelton, principal of recruitment agency Gabriella Skelton: “I’ve been in the business a very long time and usually any break-aways hoping to set up their own business will duplicate documents rather than steal them. I’ve never heard of it before.”
