American sports giant Nike is on the lookout for a UK interior designer for a planned six-storey central London store.

Nike Town will open “in some months”, says a spokesman, who confirms that the site, yet to be selected, will be at Oxford Circus.

“We’ll almost definitely be working with a UK designer rather than a US one,” adds the spokesman.

This will be Nike’s first stand-alone shop in the UK. Davies Baron created Nike’s biggest UK concession yet, at Wade Smith Outdoor Athletic in Liverpool. Meanwhile, Judge Gill Associates has designed a joint Nike and JD Sports store in Manchester.
