Same approach to cat food as to Ivy invite

The concept and design work for the infamous invitation to the Packaging Solutions Advice Group bash at The Ivy (DW 31 January) was produced at this college. We used standard packs that you’d find used for milk drinks, soup, salmon and cat food, which you’d think the author of your diary piece would be used to opening! Clearly the injuries occurred among a very privileged sector of the design industry.

In all, 500 invitations were sent out and all 60 seats were taken on day one. The anonymous writer is suggesting that this was an unsuccessful piece of design! I suspect someone certainly did get wet behind the ears.
