Gallic creative at cutting edge of wrap music

Ah, zoz crayzee French deezignerz ave zourt of evrytine. Not content to prise the protective layer off his latest Thomas Bangalter release using his teeth or scissors, enterprising Maxwell Sterry has come up with the cutesy yet functional CD Bean.

Designed to slice through a CD’s cellophane in one swipe, the Bean comes in a variety of colours and can even be customised with a Nike or Gucci logo. Sterry is talking to record shops about retailing the device, which can currently be bought at www.cdbean.com.

The way the beans revolve on the website, like the lightbikes out of Tron, is certainly something to behold.
