A direct response advertising campaign by the Department for Education and Employment is being launched, with designs and fulfilment leaflets created by Minale Tattersfield & Partners.

The consultancy was appointed in October following a fully paid pitch, as part of the Maths Year 2000 campaign to increase basic numeracy skills among primary school children.

Its design brief was to create a direct mail brochure and support material to back a responsive TV advertising campaign targeting parents and children.

The objective of the campaign is to make the maths fun to learn.

Karen Smalley from the DfEE Strategy and Communications directorate says that the brochure hits the mark.

“We are anticipating a very positive response from the public,” she says. The campaign is being rolled out this month.
