Gallery in frame for Lottery aid

London’s Whitechapel Art Gallery has won a £3.28m Heritage Lottery Fund grant to aid an expansion that will almost double its exhibition space. The £12.3m scheme includes a street level restaurant, expanded bookshop and improved disabled access.

The Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green was also awarded £3.5m by the fund.
