Interior designers need a wide range of skills
Reported trends in the work of interiors groups, in the interior design feature (DW 2 June) and Comment (DW 16 June) have highlighted the increasingly multi-disciplinary nature of interior design projects.
I am currently piloting a research study with groups of undergraduates to investigate the potential for integrating graphic design with interior design training. If successful, the next generation of interior designers could be equipped with flexible skills and the ability to work across disciplines.
I would like to hear from anyone who is willing to complete a short questionnaire which aims to survey current opinion and practice trends. Please email comments and enquiries to jross@kiad.ac.uk, quoting your postal address.
