Staffordshire University’s proposed BA course in design management received a conditional thumbs-up last week.

Staff at Staffordshire must clarify the objectives of the three-year course to a validation panel and confirm that resources will be available to support the course.

If, as expected, these conditions are met, the course – a joint venture between the university’s Business and Design and Ceramics schools – will kick off in September. The college already offers an MA in design management.

Course leader will be Philippa Ashton, principal lecturer in the School of Design and Ceramics, and the students will be based at the university’s Stoke-on-Trent campus alongside the Business School. Design and Ceramics is located in Stafford.
