Photographer admits he’s been going round the bend

If anyone has got a moment in between watching England bore draws and tut-tutting at Brazilian play-acting then check out photographer Simon Hoegsberg’s website at www.simonhoegsberg.com.

The site is a tribute to a year-long project, entitled Private & Public. For the project, Hoegsberg endured a year from summer 2001 to late spring taking pictures of people walking around the same corner of London’s Oxford Street and Edgware Road.

During the year he visited this corner day after day, week after week, taking 5000 photographs in the process.

The final collection of images consists of 52 close-up portraits of pedestrians caught in mid-thought. It’s a tribute to Hoegsberg that he stuck it out. God, he must have been bored.
