Philips takes the drain with new batteries

Philips has unveiled a new longer-lasting and more powerful battery for appliances which drain batteries quickly. Packaging for PowerLife has been designed by DJPA.

PowerLife product group manager Ruud Jona says: “In the future we foresee that even more high-drain personal products will enter the market.” The battery is suitable for travel razors, remote-controlled toys and torches.

The red and green pack is designed to differentiate PowerLife from market leader Duracell and its lookalikes, says DJPA creative director Rob Hudson.

“It was important that we broke the current colour codes to clearly communicate that something new is happening in the market,” Hudson adds.

PowerLife has launched in Europe and is currently rolling out in the UK.
