Fitch leads the way as he creates a great full circle

I was delighted to hear that Rodney Fitch is to head Fitch Worldwide as its chairman.

His return to Fitch will be great for him, the group and for the design industry as a whole, which sadly now needs strong leadership more than ever.

Having worked at Fitch & Co during the 1980s, as a young designer, I have happy memories of Rodney as a charismatic and dynamic leader who truly invested time (and money) in his team.

Unlike so many consultancies ‘managed’ by either failed accountants or ex-sales directors, he really knew what made designers ‘tick’ and saw them as assets, not simply ‘cannon fodder’.

Rodney’s strengths are his passion for retail, his knowledge of design, quick wit and his ability to motivate his team at all levels. Fitch & Co then was exciting, fun and successful.
