Real Studios creates tent suites for Virgin Morocco venture

Real Studios has designed six Berber-style tented suites in the grounds of a Moroccan hotel owned by Virgin Limited Edition.

Richard Branson’s premium hotel group appointed Real Studios in July, briefing the consultancy to design bedrooms, dressing rooms and bathrooms for the tents.

Real Studios director Yvonne Golds spent seven weeks travelling between the UK and Morocco, commissioning custom-made beds, sofas and chairs from local suppliers.

‘We had to persuade suppliers to put off taking their holidays as we had such a short turnaround time to complete the project,’ says Golds, who sourced smaller items from markets and souks.

‘The look is traditional-contemporary, complementing the antique Moroccan feel of the main house,’ she adds.

The consultancy is putting the final touches to the last tent, which will be completed next week.
