Coley Porter Bell has created brand packaging for Nescafé’s fair trade coffee brand Partners Blend. The design treatment emphasises black and white imagery of coffee producers alongside non-branded typography. However, the launch has divided campaigners. While the Fairtrade Foundation is backing the Nestlé-owned brand, Raúl de Aguila, director of Cocla Co-operative in Peru, cautioned, ‘If the brand is only doing this to give a better image to its own brands, and with no intent to continue, then it is negative.’
