Tezenis opens up UK front with London store

Italian lingerie chain Tezenis is to open its first UK store, at London’s Oxford Circus, tomorrow (Friday), with interiors by its in-house design team.

The 350m2 store, which will open at the old Shelly’s shoe shop site, will cover two floors – the ground floor and basement.

It will follow the chain’s usual concept, and feature furnishings ‘reminiscent of an American loft’ to create a cosmopolitan look – brushed concrete floors, huge fans and industrial-looking shelves and fittings all around the walls.

According to its UK manager, Saverio De Carne, ‘As we are a chain, we have to have the same image throughout, but this shop will have a little more, such as different logos above the cashier point.’

The new store is part of a spate of retail launches and redesigns in the West End, including the opening of Playboy on Oxford Street, by Australian consultancy Paul Hickman Designs, and Reiss’s forthcoming world flagship in Barrett Street, by Universal Design Studio.

Tezenis is an Italian chain, with 100 stores in Italy, as well as 17 in other European countries, selling underwear, homewear and pyjamas for men, women and children. It is part of the Calzedonia Group, which also owns the Calzedonia and Intimis- simi brands.
