How did you get to where you are today? Ben Terrett

In this video interview, former Government Digital Service head of design Ben Terrett tells us about how he made his way in the design world.

How did leading designers get to where they are now?

The Sorrell Foundation, with the Higher Education in Art & Design Foundation and Arts Council England have interviewed a series of creatives across different sectors, to find out about what they do and how they got there. The interviews are part of the Creative Journeys project.

In this interview, former Government Digital Service Director of Design Ben Terrett talks through his education and career. The film was shot while Terrett was at GDS, prior to his move to the Co-operative last year.

The organisations behind the Creative Journeys project say that the initiative is a response to a fall in the number of young people studying creative subjects at school. In the decade leading to 2013, they say, entries for Design & Technology GCSE fell by 50%.
