Throughout the Edinburgh Fringe Festival a number of events are taking place including the jewellery exhibition Dazzle, being held for the 14th time. On show will be work by 46 leading names in contemporary jewellery design including Karin Kratz’s “lateral-thinking jewellery”, Sheila McDonald’s exquisitely coloured enamel and silver and Annabet Wyndham and Sarah Packington’s one-off tea strainers and infusers. Until 30 August.

From 21 August, for the first time at the Edinburgh Fringe, there will be a contemporary crafts festival: Artisan ’97. From avant garde book-binding to traditional basket-weaving, over 140 makers and designers will be exhibiting and selling their work alongside a lecture and workshop programme. Until 25 August.

Venue: Edinburgh International Conference Centre, Morrison Street, Edinburgh EH3 8EE.

Further Fringe events include the Poolside Learning Café. There are several workshops everyday throughout the festival, including Design Your Community in 90 Minutes; and Symbol and Metaphor. Each workshop costs 8. Until 29 August.
