Does the GLA identity have enough passion?

With regard to the Greater London Authority logo (DW 8 December), to be fair to the design group, this is a clever solution which is functional and smart. It will solve problems in all sorts of areas and I guess it will flower when applied consistently throughout the capital.

However, it’s also fair to level the criticism that a world city with such scale, beauty, horror, politics, fun, hate and pleasure deserves a design which captures the imagination in the same way as “I ♥ New York” does.
