LGC lays its catalogue on-line

Office and graphics supply company The London Graphic Centre has launched a new e-commerce site which will allow customers to access the entire LGC catalogue on-line.

Digital media consultancy Revolution has created the site, following an unpaid four-way creative and strategic pitch. Entitled LGC-unlimited.com, the site features more than 60 000 products across 200 categories, from artists’ brushes to ballpoint pens and paper clips.

Peter Allen, managing director at LGC, says the site is part of an overall growth strategy for the company, which includes an attempt to develop a wider client base.

“We identified a need from our existing customers to order on-line. It’s also going to enable us to increase stationery business to non-graphic customers by making our catalogue much more accessible for people,” he explains.

Revolution’s involvement included strategic consultation, naming, branding and designing the site, building the functionality and integrating LGC’s existing on-line ordering system.

“We had a completely open brief,” says Revolution client services director, Tracey Collinge.

“It was important to create a brand name that explained that the site had an unlimited range of graphics equipment as well as stationery. The challenge was to start to target new audiences on-line,” she adds.
