Sleeve artwork from Red Design

Red Design has created the sleeve artwork for DJ Jon Kennedy’s latest album We’re Just Waiting For You Now. The cover features a piece of work from artist Stephen Smith, called ‘Kodak Metaopez’, which is an antique, distressed Kodak film box. According to Red partner Hamish Makgill, Smith’s work is highly ‘cut and paste’, and therefore is ideal as a visual representation of Jon Kennedy’s musical style, which incorporates a lot of sampling. ‘Our creative briefs are always very open [from record label Tru Thoughts Recordings],’ adds Makgill.
