Delta Air Lines, one of the world’s top five carriers, is to launch a new corporate image and identity designed by Landor Associates in London.
The consultancy confirms that it is working on the project but declines to give details. Richard Ford, the London office’s executive creative director, is heading the project.
Cathy Whelan, Delta’s executive in charge of the revamp from the airline’s Atlanta headquarters, refuses to comment.
But the new identity (pictured) is already being introduced on selected literature in Atlanta, and is expected to be implemented on some of Delta’s 540 aircraft by the start of the Olympic Games in the city this summer. US advertising group BBDO is believed to be working on new advertising.
Landor is rumoured to have been working on the project for over a year. It is thought Delta’s reluctance to talk about the project could stem from sensitivity about unfavourable reactions from US consultancies at the idea of a London office working on a large US carrier.
