Touring multifunction mobile porch hits the road

Kathrin Bohm’s art doesn’t ‘sit back and wait to be appreciated’. No sir, it ‘invites participation and engagement’.

Her latest installation, and subject of an Art & Architecture lecture at The Gallery in London’s Farringdon, is no disco wallflower. It’s not just in the house – it is the house. Or rather, a ‘multifunction mobile porch’ – part stage, part café, part DJ booth.

Previously seen ‘roaming under the Westway flyover and now touring Germany’, it looks like something from an Autobahn construction project, or maybe the start of the Tube’s Public Private Partnership infrastructure revamp.

It certainly gives a new meaning to block-rockin’ beats.
