Vickery Oldman flies Jenkins nest

Interiors group Vickery Oldman has ended a long-term office sharing arrangement with The Jenkins Group to move in with graphics group Visible Edge, itself originally a breakaway consultancy from The Jenkins Group.

Vickery Oldman will continue to work on joint projects with The Jenkins Group, says chairman Nick Jenkins. But the interiors group is also engaging in joint pitches with Visible Edge.

“The portfolio of the two practices aligns quite well,” says Vickery Oldman joint founder Tim Oldman.

The move follows the acquisition last year of The Jenkins Group by marketing and communications consultancy Cobalt (DW 17 October 1997).

The Jenkins Group had been placed into receivership (DW 16 January 1998). The deal is understood to have meant considerable cultural changes at The Jenkins Group.

“Cobalt does do a different kind of work, but it’s going very well,” says Jenkins.

Jenkins says he has no plans to leave The Jenkins Group. He has worked with Vickery Oldman since its foundation. Both the founding partners – David Vickery and Oldman are former members of The Jenkins Group.
